You will sleep in a gypsy caravan, known as a bow top open lot wagon, pulled on to an old cider apple orchard not far from the farmhouse. The bow top sleeps two in a cosy traditional extending double bed. You need to be reasonably agile to climb in! Traditionally cooking and washing was done outside. There is an open fire for cooking but nearby there is an early ’70’s ‘flash trailer’, sometimes referred to as a showmans caravan, with fridge, gas cooker and comfortable seating for rainy days. It can also be used as alternative accommodation if sleeping in the bow top is not for you.

Click on the Photo to Visit WebsiteRiverside Lakes, Wimborne, Dorsetriversidelakes is (unsurprisingly) a campsite built around three lakes. because of the abundant and varied natural habitats we are inundated with wildlife. from the smallest wiggly creatures to things that go bump (or even grrr!) in the night. we mow some of the land so that you can walk around but most of the site is left as natural meadow, woods and shrubs. we think that it’s better to share the space equally with nature, rather than commercialise it and fill it up with campers.
