Grizedale Camping, Lake District
The wood used in the construction is a naturally ‘warm’ material but to provide extra winter warmth we have installed sheep’s wool insulation inside the walls while a special foil layer under the roof helps keep summer temperatures in check. There is a small, high level window in the back wall this not only provide light but will help keep the living space well ventilated and aid ‘through draft’ on hot summer days.

4 Winds Lakeland Tipis, Lake District
When the sunshine filters through the canvas or the candlelight flickers across the tall majestic poles supporting this traditional dwelling you will feel a tangible sense of a simpler existence. The ethos of the North American Indian was to be at one with Grandmother Earth and to respect nature at 4 Winds we also adhere to this ethos.

The Quiet Site, Ullswater, Lake District.
The Pod is a timber built, insulated hut designed to be used just like a tent but unlike a tent it is already set up on the site, ready for you to move in! With no tent to erect or pack away in the rain your holiday could just have become a lot less stressful. They are manufactured by a small firm in the south lakes and are the inspiration of a man known only as Ian. Some say he has a slightly pointy head. Each Pod has plenty of headroom and a floor area of approximately 7 square metres - ample space for 2 people or even 2 adults and 2 children. The Pod is designed to accommodate the variable British weather with ample ventilation for the hot days and lamb’s wool insulation for those chillier times - a wooden ‘tent’ for all seasons. A Pod offers a higher level of security than a canvas tent.

Long Valley Yurts, Lake District
Home to some of the most famous scenery in Britain, the Langdale Pikes, Pavey Ark and Harrison Stickle, the name Langdale originates from the Nordic word meaning ‘Long Valley’. Hence our name. The mountain scape is some of the most recognisable horizon lines in the whole of the Lake District, bringing together rugged craggy peaks with beautiful hidden tarns to long graceful valleys and flowing rivers.
