There is plenty of opportuntity to kick back and totally enjoy the space and tranquility here … with the simiple, rustic and luxurious interiors, the hammock just outside your tent, or following the many tracks and footpaths here or by the nearby River Wye. Towards dusk you can get to grips with the Earth Oven in the Bake House and cook delicious pizza or bread … then cosy up by your own campfire. Simple magical fun …. Of course being lovers of the land, we are very active in recyling wherever we can, look after the land (encouraging a wide variety of species with the plant and animal life). We keep things ethical and local too. The wood used in the making of tipis and yurts come from local woods. The local organic farm, White Thorn Farm (situated just over a mile away) deliver a pre ordered box and offer amazing meat for the barbeque (plus their own cider!), they will even take you around to see their beautiful pigs. The interiors of the tents; much of the fabrics are natural dyes and fairtrade along with the Morrocan tables and stools. Visit Website

At Rivendale, our Yurt has been hand-made by a local craftsman with a peeled timber lattice frame providing full headroom over most of its area with the strength to resist the winter weather over 1000 feet above sea level on the side of a mountain.
Due to a shortage of Yaks and Ibex in the Peak District, we have substituted the felt and animal skins with a heavy, flame-retardant canvas and an apex of clear plastic – so you can admire the stars from the comfort of the rugs inside. The apex can be folded back like a sun-roof for better ventilation on hot days with traditional campfire-cooking outside on the grill of the fire-pit.
A traditional wood-burning stove supplied with well-seasoned timber inside the Yurt provides warmth and somewhere to cook and boil a kettle with near full head-room throughout.
